Happy birthday to someone who always knew that!

I think my mom picked this card because this little girl looks just like me circa 1975. I love it! Still have the attitude too although the patchwork bell bottoms are history. *grin* My parents and sister and niece came to visit last weekend for my birthday and we had a great time - went swimming, saw the movie Wall-E (pretty cute), went shopping and hung out at Groovefest for a while. My favorite gifts were this gorgeous sun and this lavender crystal from the lavender festival in northern Utah.

I saw a couple men that I’d been on dates with at the Groovefest - one I don’t care to see again, the other I tried to contact this week to see how he’s doing, and if he was interested in catching up since I’m back in town again. Maybe he’ll call back, maybe not. We’ll see what happens. One of my co-workers wants to set me up with her, brother-in-law, I think he was, and he sounded nice so I said sure, why not. I also decided to try a couple of online dating sites. Not much luck with those yet but I figure I’ll give it 3-4 months and then I can at least say I gave it shot. So who knows, maybe something will come of all this, maybe not. I’m ok either way.

I’ve been working part time at the women’s shelter here and loving it and am still looking for another part or full time job and, you know, just trying to enjoy the summer as much as I can while it lasts. Summer is my favorite season and not just because of my birthday. I love the hot weather and all the sunshine. Life is pretty damn good right now despite all the challenges in recent months.  I think this year will be much better than the last one. Cheers!
